Faculty Senate Adjunct Appreciation Award

About

Each year, the Faculty Senate honors and celebrates one adjunct faculty member via the Faculty Senate Adjunct Appreciation Award. The award was founded by long-time math professor and senate representative Bob Stern, as a means of allowing the Faculty Senate of Pellissippi State to formally recognize the contributions made to the college by its adjuncts. First handed out in 2018, it was originally intended that the honor include a cash award to the winner, funded by the largess of faculty via donations, and thanks chiefly to Stern himself, that has been the case each year. Wishing to continue this noble tradition, full-time faculty are uniquely positioned, now more than ever,  to demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of part-time colleagues and to support them, both officially and practically, through generous giving.
