Monday’s Scholarship of the Week is the Home Federal Bank Scholarship.
In 1924, a handful of businessmen that founded the Home Building and Loan Association (now called Home Federal Bank) had one goal in mind: Create more homeowners. Their belief was that homeowners stabilized and improved the community. In other words – they had a stake in the future of Knoxville. Knoxville and Home Federal have grown together. While they have grown from a relatively tiny $500,000 in assets to a bank boasting more than $2 billion in assets, they have never outgrown East Tennessee.
“Home Federal Bank is blessed to be in the East Tennessee region, an area with a strong and diverse economy. We have a great network of branches, longstanding brand recognition, and financial stability based on conservative banking principles, all of which have allowed us to flourish in this community.” – David Reynolds, CEO, Home Federal Bank
The Home Federal Bank Scholarship was established in July of 1988.
To be eligible for consideration for the Home Federal Bank Scholarship, a Pellissippi State student must have at least a 2.5 GPA at their high school or last college attended and have verifiable financial need. A $350 scholarship is provided each year.
