Monday’s Pellissippi State Scholarship of the Week is the Paul F. Bruns Technical Endowment Scholarship. Pictured is Dr. and Mrs. James Bruns and one of their scholarship recipients.
Dr. James Bruns spent 41 years in education. After achieving the rank of professor, he moved to administration retiring as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Pellissippi State. He established the Harriette Vankey Bruns Scholarship in honor of his mother and has now established the Paul F. Bruns Technical Endowment Scholarship in honor of his father.
Students in Computer Technology, Engineering Technology, General Technology, Media Technology and Welding Technology are eligible for consideration for this scholarship. They must also be enrolled in at least 12 hours in succeeding semesters, have at least a 2.5 GPA, and have verifiable financial need and a letter of recommendation from their college faculty advisor, teacher or recognized professional such as their employer are eligible for consideration.
The first scholarship of $350 has been awarded this spring.
