Associated Construction Women (ACW) was originated and incorporated for the exclusive benefit of women working in or interested in the construction industry in the East Tennessee area in 1994. Their mission is to promote growth through education, friendship and support. ACW is open to women employed in any facet of the construction industry.
The Carol Meade Associated Construction Women Scholarship was established in June of 2003. In order to qualify for consideration for this scholarship a student must be:
1) A female Pellissippi State student who is a resident of East Tennessee.
2) Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and be enrolled as a full-time student in a Construction Industry Program or in Interior Design.
3) Have verifiable financial need and have a written recommendation from a college faculty advisor, teacher or other recognized professional.
4) Attend one meeting of the Associated Construction Women of Knoxville, Tennessee.
It is the donor’s intent that a scholarship of $1,500 be awarded each year.
To date, 14 students have received The Carol Meade Associated Construction Women scholarship for a total of $17,250.
