The Goddard School Scholarship & Program Support

About

The Goddard School of Knoxville is a privately owned preschool, by Don and Anoula McCarren, facilitating development from infancy to Kindergarten. The early childhood learning center has been serving the Hardin Valley and neighboring communities for eleven years. The mission of the school is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to receive a superior, early childhood education that will foster a love of learning in each child. The school teaches the children through Fun Learning Experiences. The Goddard School believes that children learn best through a child directed, play based framework known as FLEX. The teachers create their own lesson plans using the Tennessee Early Learning Standards and interests of the children, which help the children develop school, career, and life skills. The Goddard School believes in building connections with their children and families. They value and prioritize quality interactions between passionate, educated teachers and the children, that foster a love for learning.

The Goddard School of Knoxville is dedicated to providing the community with a quality early childhood experience. They believe that they can do this by helping support the Early Childhood program at Pellissippi Community College. They wish to help those students passionate about teaching early childhood to become educated teachers who can fulfill the Goddard School’s mission to provide quality early childhood experiences.

The scholarship will provide Pellissippi State Early Childhood Education majors with assistance in paying for background checks and will also provide program support for the College’s Early Childhood program.

We wish to thank Don and Anoula McCarren and The Goddard School of Knoxville for their recent generous gift of $3,500 to support our Early Childhood Education students and program.
