Pellissippi State takes the job of protecting the college’s data seriously. All college data is protected by several layers of security including using college provided accounts for access control, encrypting data as it is transferred, firewalls and netowrk security, providing secure file transfer services, hosting data in secure data centers and more.
It is every employee’s job to ensure they keep any confidential or restricted data protected as appropriate. All computer account users abide by the appropriate polices for using college computer systems and accounts including:
All employees also participate in annual training on data and information security as well as receive regular updates regarding current security issues or threats. An updated list of cybersecurity references and resources is also maintained on the CIO blog.
