If you go by a different first name than your legal first name, you can change your chosen/preferred name inside Banner Self-Service (SSB) from myPellissippi.
This is a TWO-STEP process:
- Step One: Change your name in myPellissippi
- Step Two: Change your name in Outlook (email)
There are two different links available depending on if you are a student or an employee.
Student Process
Step One: Change your name in myPellissippi
Log into myPellissippi
On the Home tab, click on “More Options…” in the Records menu on the right
This takes you to the main Student menu in SSB. Click the Student Records link
In the Student Records menu, click Add/Change Preferred Name
Enter your preferred first name and click Submit.
You will get an email to your college email address confirming that the change request has been completed. You will need that email to complete Step Two (keep on reading!)
Step Two: Contact the HelpDesk to get your name changed in Outlook
Forward the email you get from the name change process to helpdesk@pstcc.edu to request your display name be changed in the email system.
The college will address reports of misuse of preferred names in accordance with existing college and Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) policies and procedures.
The college reserves the right to remove preferred names that are deemed misrepresentative.
Employee Process
Step One: Change/Add your chosen/preferred name in myPellissippi
Log into myPellissippi and go to the Employee page
In the Employee Details portlet, click the Add/Change Preferred Name link
Complete the preferred first name and click Submit. You’re done!
Step Two: Contact the HelpDesk to get your name changed in Outlook
Forward the email you get from the name change process to helpdesk@pstcc.edu to request your display name be changed in the email system.
