Mindfulness for Emotional Intelligence – Part I
September 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT
In today’s busy world employees and employers alike are searching for self-care tools to help combat stress and burnout in life. With the added component of the double pandemic (COVID-19 and racial reckoning), our capacity to breathe and center ourselves is fewer and farther between. How is it that we use the seemingly individual practices of mindfulness to engage in personal and communal healing and wellbeing? The Mindfulness for Emotional Intelligence sessions will explore the practice of Mindfulness (i.e., present moment experience) and Equitable Mindfulness, a novel framework which works to present the concept of mindfulness to *everyone* while being active in our respective communities to break down personal and systemic barriers.
Join us on Wednesday, September 8 at 1pm via Zoom for Part I of the Mindfulness for Emotional Intelligence hosted by Pellissippi Academy.
This presentation will be led by Mindfulness Practitioner Tiara Cash, MS, MCMCA, and will include the following objectives:
- The learner will discover how stress disrupts the body.
- The learner will engage with mindfulness as a tool to combat stress through experiential learning.
A follow-up session will be taking place on October 6, 2021.
